another addon of 1.8 is the lenght of field name saved into the SIM; since now was fixed to 14, now to optimize the use with the new SIM with more space, the field lenght is read from the SIM. To use this feature, if a previous version of SIManager is installed, you must do a ‘read from SIM’ at least one time
Please remember how ‘fast read’ in the setup work: when on, the read from SIM loop is stopped at the 1st empty entry.. so if you save the contact without hole, in position 1 to 100 for example, at the position 101 (empty) the loop is stopped without read till 120 or 250 or 500 depending on sim capacity

i have send now to beyouriphone the 1.4 with some fix and:
mod: when a contact is added to sim list is truncated immediately to the max 14 characters (now you see full name till saved to sim and reloaded)
new: added function Copy iPhone to SIM; of course if the SIM has sufficent capacity
mod: when a contact is added to sim list all space and special characters from numbers are removed (it was cause of error writing sim)
new: double tap on navigation bar to move the list; on center to go middle, a bit more to left or to right to go at the top or the bottom

******************* UPDATE: the version 1.2 is now available on repo test.beyouriphone.com; all incompatibility with 3.1.2 should be removed… all peoples in direct contact with me are able toread the SIM with this version; dont know why somebody has yet the error.
if you contact me i will send a test app to check the answer of the SIM during initialyzing (we read how many contact can save the SIM)
the fast read swicth tell the application do not try to read full SIM but stop a the first empty entry ; if you are sure that your contact are save sequentially, can use this switch to fast the read function… if you are not sure leave the switch off and all possibile entry will be checked
1.2 BUG: the total number of possibilecontact on the SIM wa not retained, so opening the application and adding contact you will see a message “the SIM is full”; of course isnt true, the 1.3 that i sent to beyouriphonesolve this bug

this is yet a beta version because i cannot test on all devices model/all firmware/all base band, so maybe it dont work on some configuration… i dont need it for myself but i have received some request fom users that was using an application available on cydia for 2.x firmare, so i write SIManager :) that will be available in the next days
A little note about it work:
when yuo use Read from SIM function the contact are save in a local database and next time you open SIManager this db is used to show the contacts; the function is a bite slow,be patience:)
Standard SIM allow only 2 field, a description of 14 characters and a phone number
- black background mean that contact is as it was read from SIM
- red background mean that the contact is deleted
- dark red background mean the contact has been modifyed
When the information will be saved back to the SIM all background return to black
Select the contact to be modified
and import into phone contacts
or touch the + button to pickup a contact from phone and save in the SIM list

if you are able to copy an app on your iphone and run it fromcommand line i will send a test app to check whats the answer of yoursim when we ask for sim capacity during initializing

I downloded simanager 1.2. I selected a phone # and clicked writetoSim.it was intializing for few mins and threw a msg ‘error writing phonebook’. Any idea ?

strangely on some device the at command are not executed but i have not understand why till now

Ok I am on iPhone 3g FW 3.1.2. It work perfectly for me. Only 2 issue, when 1st started using,when Read from SIM button is click. It keep say SIM capacity full. But after 3rd try is ok. 2nd issue is that does it recongise duplicate contact eg. If SIM & phone had the contract and user forgotten and add it again either to phone or SIM.

Here I have the same as Divakar. When I read the sim, it tell me Reading 150 but sim result is blank. 3GS FW3.1.2 BB04.26.08 (pwnage). Send me the test app, I Will return you the ressult.

Its unaible to delete any contact from the sim. I can only import them from the sim to the phone. Nothing more… I got 3gs 3.1.2

The other problem is dat is reading 250 contacts that are not on my sim i got only 120.

Even with beta 1.5 i can not delete any contact. Is this normal ? I think u guys have to work on the reading sim contacts to make more fast, it takes round 2 minutes till 250 contacts.

I found 2 things when I write to sim.
1. When I select Iphone to Sim ,it is displaying all the Phone contacts but the Space and special characters are there for few contacts. If I do write to sim it is writing to sim and it stops when it finds a contact with SPACE or Braces ’(‘ but it is allowing ‘+’ character contacts.
2. When I add a contact with SPACE or Braces ’(‘ by clicking +, it is trimming the special characters and am able to write it to sim.
It means when I write to sim in bulk it is not trimming the special characters. If these things get resolved the it is working perfectly for me.

I am getting an error when I write my entries to SIM.
Error writing phonebook

It looks like this error is being caused by SIManager seeing a SPACE after the area code, but I checked the contact in my contacts list and it doesn’t show a space. It only shows a space after the area code when I look at the contact in SIManager.
So in my iPhone contacts list the number reads (123)456-7890
And in SIManager it reads 123 4567890
I am using SIManager v1.5

the SIManager routine should remove all space and other not numeric characters, maybe there is a bug, i will check today, thanks

its very strange, but whats the error message ?? empty sim function will mark as delete the ‘cache’ copy in the local database, to really delete you must write the sim; for the slow rate that is the sim speed… the native import from sim is slow too

Anche la versione 1.5 continua a non farmi funzionare la copia di tutti i contatti da iphone su sim tramite la rotella posta in basso al centro!i contatti da copiare sono 230 e la sim è vuota…è una 128k…quindi ha la possibilità di copiarne 250…

1.6 worked fine. Am able to rwrite to Sim but one small issue. One of the contacts last name has ‘&’ so it stopped writing to sim and threw error. Then I removed it and tried it worked. Thanks for this app

hello, there are request for arabic support too, but with my sim its not allowed, dont if it depend from sim, iphone or what… if you are able to manually copy an app to iphone and run from commandline i will send a tool to check which characters set are usable on your sim/hardware, maybe it help to understand
