as requested i have add the support for DNS-O-Matic (with this provider the hostname is not used and DNS-O-Matic will update all linked provider with the provided IP)
as requested now iDNS update also WiFi IP; when run it check if WiFi has an IP and if so use it, otherwise check for data IP (remember that sometime the edge/3g is not connected, to made a connection is enough open meteo or another application that use data connection)
iDNS save locally the lst IP sent to provider… if IP not change iDNS not send any update
added into GUI a field with IP and date of last update sended (if you have just activate the process, wait few seconds then press Refresh to checkif iDNS has sent an update)
if you like the update sometimes click on the banner hahaha; now google can close the ads account but anyway it give no money pratically

I have this setup and working great, but for whatever reason when I try and connect using a VNC client to my iPhone it gives me a problem and tells me that I can’t connect.
Any idea why that’s happening?

Why not make it optionally use the WiFi address? Those are usually not accessible public.
Does this app run from crontab or eth.up/down scripts?

if you are connected with wifi the dns is updated with wifi ip (the private ip not theipofthe router); the application is a daemon launched/stopped with launchctl from the gui

It would be great to be able to turn off the wifi-feature. A hostname pointing to 10.0.1.4 is of no use for me at least

I have installed Lighttpd and PHP5 on my phone and have managed to code a program that lists all SMS messages on the phone in a nice GUI
It is so cool being able to access the phone over 3G and read/write SMS trough Safari

i dont know if stop update wifi ip solve your problem because when wifi is available the 3g data is not used

Very cool app, I’m currently using it with DNS-O-Matic. Thank you for the hard work. I could suggest two really cool features that would be nice to see. 1. The ability to disable the wifi updates. And 2. If wifi updates are enabled choose whether I want to update using the internal or external IP of the wifi. I know DNS-O-Matic has an api in place to return you external ip addresses.
