CallMe 0.8

hi,

as requested by some users, a little modify for CallMe… with Rick are testing the new version in these days, i think will be available in cydia for the weekend

  • you can now label the icon with Company

img_0017

  • the classic index for fast search is added

img_0019

  • the image are now read from contact database during display: the scrolling is now a bit more slow but the memory required by CallMe is much less so i hope it work also for who have thousands of contact
  • fixed a bug with contact without picture

  • New parameter in setup windows

 img_0008

with fast dial ON, the dial is made as previuos version (touch icon to start dial automatically)

with fast dial OFF, touching the icon this window is displayed

img_0009

to activate this new mode, the icons of your contact must be deleted and created again with the new version;

if you have a lot of contacts in your springboard and want update manually: install new version of CallMe from cydia, then copy the files Dial, phone.png and sms.png from the folder /Applications/CallMe.app/Dial into /Applications/Dial?.app, where ? is 0,1,2,3 and so on,one for any contact you have put in the springboard. Pay attention that the file Dial in the folder /Applications/Dial?.app must have permission 755

This application is really good, exactly what I am looking for. I can customize the label and the icon and everything very easily.

When I click the springboard icon it begins the call perfectly, but when I end the call my screen goes white and my iphone freezes.

The only way I can un-freeze the phone it is to reboot it.

    Hi,
I recently updated to firmware 3.0 and re-jailbroke my phone.
However, when I did so, CallMe stopped working. I reinstalled it
and it still doesn’t work. Is anyone else having a problem? Is there
a fix that I don’t know about? I would appreciate any help that
    anyone can provide. Thanks!

hi, on my 3.0 works fine,i have already created the icons for my favourites contact… whats the problem ?? not start the application, crash loading contacts or during selection ?? how many contacts have you ?? is there a file /tmp/jo.log ??

Well, the app installs, and the icon appears on the springboard.
I can even go into the program and see my contact list (which includes
about 10 people). I add the contacts to CallMe normally, and I can assign
first name, last name, company, etc. However, when I respring to the homescreen, the contact buttons do not appear. When I SSH the phone, the Dial0 app appears in the app folder, but it shows up nowhere on the home screen. I don’t know what to do :(

    Any suggestions?

    hi,
if the folder Dial0.app has been created into /Applications CallMe has done his job :); very strange that you cant see the contact’s icon… have you try to force another respring with sbsetting or other tool ?? have you category installed ??

    June 24th, 2009

  12. samlark

    Hi,
I’ve tried respringing several times, and, yes, I do have Categories installed. I used categories on software 2.2.1 to store my CallMe contact buttons. However, now I can’t make the buttons appear on the springboard or in Categories. Although, Categories let’s me add the Dial0.app, Dial1.app, etc. but does not keep them in the folder I created. Very strange, indeed.

I appreciate the attention you’re giving the matter, and look forward to any additional suggestions you might have.
    Thanks! —-Sam

    WOW!
I can’t believe I figured it out by accident. I was playing around in SBSettings and found that the icons for CallMe were being hidden under the “Hide Icons” tab. I don’t know how it got turned off, but once I turned the icon back to the “On” position, it appeared on my Springboard. I could then put my Contact buttons into Categories like I did before.

Keep up the good work with CallMe. It’s a great application. I’m glad I got it up and running again.

Thanks again for all the advice! — Sam

    Hi,

I just reinstalled the callme application on my iPhone after the upgrade to 3.0. Surprisingly I realized that this application avoid the “Call Confirmation” dialog introduced in 3.0. How have you done this? Is there a programatic way on a jailbroken device to overcome this “feature”?

Hi - good app but a couple of questions… I’m using Iphone original and app installed today works ok so far:

    - how can I “edit” a contact? can’t seem to do this..
    - when deleting a contact the icon is still staying on SB?

    Grazie..

  23. admin

    hi,
have you added contacts too in the meantime ?? please check if you have any contact WITHOUT lastname, firstname and company, for example only phone number and mail; due e little bug at least one field from lastname, firstname and company is required

    August 17th, 2009

  24. admin

    hi,
what you mean for ‘edit’ ?? what you can do is delete the contact prevuiosly added to SB touching the red (-)
yes when you delete contact the icon is not deleted because ist a separate application not tie with native contacts application; you must delete it with previuos step before to delete the contact; if you delete the contact before then in Callme, you found an entry in CallMe that say ‘lost contact’ (or similar description, not remember now)

  31. Hi!

Please forgive me in disturbing you but i am a fan of the “callme” app on iPhone since the beginning.

I’ve always had it on my iPhone with nô problems. Even the 3.0 os didn’t changed anything. All was still right working.

But yesterday,i tried to change a pic of one of my contacts but the contact was still staying with the old pic. So i decided to uninstall callme and reinstall it. But i can’t even on cydia even on icy…

It says “netdb : open nodename nor servname provided, or not known”. It seems that the ispazio’s source doesnt work anymore… Is it normal? Could you tell me more what happens? And could you help me? I feel bad without that app!

    Thanks for tour attention.

    Stéphane.

I have a 3gs, jailbroken. when I first reinstalled callme and attempted to add to my springboard, worked. I then selected the option to (see all contacts with or without pictures), and closd the app. Now It will not load. It only starts to load, and then goes back to the springboard. Is there a way to edit call me without opening it, so I can tell it to only load contacts with pics. At least I could then get it to load completely.
I have tried unstalling it and that did not help.
    Thanks,
    Mark

Hi. I just upgraded to iOS4.0. Is CallMe compatible with the new OS?
For some reason no icons show in the springboard, the program itself seems to run fine.

Contact me if more info is needed.

Ok, I did some research. A simple respring will make the icons visible.
    Hope this helps someone.
