As beta function, you can now access sms saved on the sim; this function is limited for now: you can read and write the sms but only manually, without insert or pickup from native message database… and i think that for now this work only for standard gsm characters and not with chines, cyrillic etc but i wait for you feedback
If the function is of your interest, i will implement better and i will allow transfer from/to native message (maybe i will wait for ios5 that i suppose will change the database)
First time you will try to use sms function, you will get a db error, restarting SIManager again the new db will be created

For user that have infinite reading SIM on iphone 4, copy this into iphone into /tmp and rename as sendcmd (its not a true zip file), set 755 permission (execution) and from terminal or putty go into /tmp (cd /tmp) logged as root and run this command
./sendcmd “AT+CPBR=?”
and send me the output but if the result is like this
the device isnt accessible, dont know if caused by another app that use/patch commcenter of a bad jb.
But without a working device the app can do nothing…
Another clue can be the output of command ls /dev

generate the log and send to me (/tmp/SIManagerRun.log and /tmp/SIMnager.log) but for sure the internal modem cannot accessed, caused by other cydia app/tweak or bad jb

I had a look at the log you requested..it’s blank and 0 bytes, I tried running SIManager whilst in safe mode so to switch off all tweaks and mobile substrates because of what you said….unfortunately same problem…reading sim just reads and reads forever, I’ve waited at least 10 mins!

It works on fw 4.1, tried on my girlfriends iPhone 4. Same jailbreak as mine as I did hers for her but she is on 4.1 so I dnt think your update is 4.3.3 compatible.

@fische @Paul: i use 4.3.3 without issue… i dont think there are bugs yet in simanager, if modem or sim dont answer i can do nothing; can you run a commandline tool on iphone to check what happen ?

When i press read from sim, it starts to
initialize and that goes on for ever and ever.

dear fische, are you able to read ? make the test in the post and let me know the result if you want try to understand because not run on your device/sim. I have thousond of mail of users that havent issue on 4.3.3, myself too; there are problem on some device and the 3 people have make a debug with me was having all problem with jb and make a new jailbreak solve the problem

Unfortunately I don’t understand how I am supposed to update the permissions nor how to run the diagnostic code. sorry I can’t help. I would love for this to work.
Tonight I will try to restore my phone, jailbreak, and install your app. If it works – then the problem is another app. If not, then we will know it is being caused by the hardware in certain iPhone 4s.

Yea i hav the same problem as paul after i had upgraded to 4.3.3 from 4.2.1. No problem with 4.3.1 before. I notice there is no box for fast read setting in setup.

Mine is iphone 4 4.3.3. I recently upgraded from 4.2.1. Simanager 2.8 run on 4.2.1 but not 4.3.3. When copy iphone to sim initialising forever too. When I look into setup there is no FAST READ box for me to set to ON. Please advise through email. Thanks a million.

Infinite loop persists!
My phone is still unable to read the SIM. I restored 4.3.3, used jailbreakme.com, and installed the unlock.
Now we’re down to two possibilities: My-Tmobile SIM card is somehow causing this problem, or the jailbreakme + ultrasn0w solutions doesn’t allow access to the SIM card.

searching on google i have found a tweet that ask the developer if ultrasnow block the access to the modem but without answer.. can you remove unltrasnow just for test and try to use simanager ?

I removed ultrasnow still the same problem exist. I would like to know how to get FAST READ box appear in setup. I believe that is the problem.

After removing ultrasnow i am able to delete all sim at one go but when copying from pjone to sim always encounter error write phonebook. The FAST READ box was not there. This may be the problem. Please reply to my email. Hope u hav the answer.

Hi to all having issues. It turns out that the infinite loop is caused by ultrasnow. The recent update to 1.2.4 has solved the issue and works perfect. Just thought I’d let you all know as I was the first to comment on the issue with SIManager admin. If you disabling ultrasnow does not fix the infinate loop (if you rely on it as I do) you sim must be active. Pls update and it should work fine. This tweak is a life saver, why apple don’t have this like all other phones is beyond me. Good luck!! Paul

I have iphone 4 (4.3.1). I tried to copy contacts to sim but it said “sim full” or read sim took forever. I found a solution. You have to delete ultrasn0w.
After deleting ultrasn0w (mine was 1.2.4), everything worked! Thanks.

@cieo i don’t think… To be sure is enough read sim again, if after read the list is full of contacts they are saved on sim
If the list is empty (but without error message) you need to do tool/copy iPhone to sim and list is populate by green contacts, then write to sim

The error happens after some contact has been copied. When read from sim only 10 contact copied the rest can’t copy. The Sim is not Lock.

Iphone 4 sim locked using gevey ultra to get t-mobile, i m on 4.2.1.simmanager 2.8.when i try to reed from the app.it gives me 0/0.. I tried it on 4.3.3.the same prob..i uninstalled ultrasnow but the same prob. I have no idea what is the prob.

@zak: sorry but for some reason the device not answer to the command sent to him… from terminal send command “ls /dev” you should see a device dlci.spi-baseband.extra_0 or dlci.spi-baseband.extra_13, do you have it ?
if so you can try minicom to send some At command and check if device answer corretcly (i suppose of no)

Simanager works perfectly on my locked at&t iphone 4 04.11.08. I don’t know if this will help but I realized that it only works if I use an AT&T card for the contact transfer. I am actually a t-mobile subscriber.

I recently loaded your sim manager onto my 3g iphone. and sorted out the sim.
Now I find that iTunes doesn’t recognise my device.
Can I remove Sim manager and then reload it.
There is no obvious way of deleting the app.
